Our PTSA activities are 100% volunteer run. We invite you to share your time and talent any time throughout the year. Most volunteer opportunities are a short time commitment and we welcome you to participate in a way that is meaningful for you.

General PTSA Volunteer
We have so many opportunities for volunteers. The PTSA has a presence at the 6th grade bridge, orientations, enrollment fairs, and all things Louis Armstrong Middle School. Sign up for notificaitons as volunteer needs arise.

Annual Giving
Dara Pierre-Louise is the chair of our Annual Giving Committee. The event will run for three weeks starting August 25th, 2025.


Student Social Committee
The PTSA sponsors fun events during the school day. Nuola Akinde is the Chair for our Student Social Committee leader and looking for volunteers to join in executing and planning the events for the students.
Student Social Volunteer


Business Sponsorship and Outreach
We are looking for outgoing community members to fundraise with our local businesses. This includes donations, school sponsorship and restaurant nights.


Teacher / Staff Appreciation Committee
The Armstrong PTSA holds several staff appreciation events. Kristin Engle will be heading the committee as our chair. She needs volunteers to help her organize and participate in the events.


Reflections Committee Chair
The Reflections Chairperson oversees the school’s participation in the National PTA Reflections Program, an arts recognition, and achievement program designed to inspire students to express themselves creatively while increasing community awareness of the importance of the arts in education. The chairperson is responsible for encouraging support and participation among school staff, students, and families, overseeing the judging process, recognizing participants, and publicizing awardees within the school and community. Implementation materials are supplied by the National PTA.


8th Grade Activities
Help plan and execute 8th grade culmination activities.


Social Media Leader
We are looking for one volunteer to help us manage our social media presence. If you have limited time to be at the school, this is a great volunteer opportunity that happens behind the scenes.
